Online injury and pain coaching

Work with me, 1-on-1.

Online injury and pain coaching by a registered physiotherapist in Amsterdam. I work with the full range of training and everyday injuries, and I specialise in the ones that don't follow the normal script: pain that keeps coming back, and a nervous system that won't calm down.

Two kinds of work, and I do both.

Most people come to me with a straightforward injury: something hurts, it's getting in the way, and they want to keep training while it settles. Some come after that has already been tried, several times, and nothing has held. Both are welcome, and I take them equally seriously.

My specialty

Persistent pain and nervous system overload

The cases that don't respond the way the textbook says they should. Pain that has outlasted the tissue damage, pain that moves or comes back somewhere new, and bodies stuck in a state of alarm.

  • Pain that has lasted months or years
  • Injuries that keep returning to the same spot
  • Widespread pain and sensitivity
  • Wired and tired, not recovering between sessions
  • Exercise intolerance and crashes after training
  • Fear of movement after a bad episode

This is where I've done the most reading, the most clinical work, and where I think I can help people that other routes have not.

Also, and just as available

Injuries, from the ordinary to the annoying

Regular musculoskeletal complaints, whether they came from the gym, from running, from work, or from nowhere in particular.

  • Neck and shoulder
  • Elbow and wrist
  • Lower and upper back
  • Hip, knee and ankle
  • Tendon problems and overuse
  • Returning to training after an injury or surgery

You don't need a complicated case to book. A straightforward injury handled well early is often the reason it never becomes a complicated one.

And when something needs to be seen in person, imaged, or looked at by a doctor, I say so and point you in the right direction. A second opinion is only worth having if it knows its own limits.

What actually happens.

  1. Intake, 60 minutes on video

Full history first, then a physical assessment that you perform while I guide you through it. I want to see how you move, what provokes it, and what it responds to.

  2. An explanation you can use

What I think is going on and why, in plain language. For persistent pain this is half the work, because what you believe about your pain changes how your body behaves.

  3. A plan you can train with

What to keep, what to change, what to load and by how much. Written so it fits into the week you actually have, not an ideal one.

  4. Weekly check-ins

One WhatsApp check-in a week while things are settling, answered within 24 hours on weekdays. Adjustments happen as the week goes, not at the next appointment.

About me.

I'm Olivier. I qualified as a physiotherapist in the Netherlands, cum laude, and I'm BIG-registered and based in Amsterdam, where I work clinically alongside this practice. I've been training for over ten years and coaching people as a personal trainer for three.

Persistent pain is the part of the field I keep going back to. It's where the standard model runs out, where people get passed from one professional to the next, and where the difference between a good explanation and a bad one changes someone's year. That's why it's my specialty rather than just something I also see.

That said, most weeks I'm working with ordinary injuries, and I like that work too. Knowing what the difficult end looks like makes me better at the straightforward end, mainly at not making it complicated when it isn't.

Sessions run from Amsterdam, and from Bangkok between November and May. The work and the times don't change.

Tell me briefly what's going on and how long it's been going on for. In a free 15-minute call we look at whether I can help. If I think I can, we book an intake. If I don't, I'll tell you that and say where to go instead.
